LEEDS midfielder David Batty was hailed for his good sportsmanship after United’s 2-1 away league victory over Liverpool.

Late in the game, Batty was brought down by Steven Gerrard, who was already on a yellow card.

Batty was quickly on his feet to plead with referee Alan Wiley not to send his opponent off. But Gerrard still got his marching orders.
