Woe for Clemmie
CLEMMIE was deposed as 1,000 Guineas favourite by stablemate Happily after it was revealed she faces a race against time to make Newmarket on May 6.
The Aidan O’Brientrained winner of the Cheveley Park Stakes at HQ last September was pushed out to 6-1 for the Classic, with Chantilly’s Prix Jean-Luc Lagardère heroine Happily the new market leader at 7-2.
Ballydoyle inmate Amedeo Modigliani’s challenge for the Investec Derby on June 2 is also in the balance.
“Both horses have had setbacks and there is a doubt about their Classic runs,” said O’Brien’s man Kevin Buckley.
