Buffon’s trash talk

- BY ADRIAN KAJUMBA

GIANLUIGI BUFFON is still refusing to apologise for his attack on Michael Oliver.

Instead, the Juventus keeper had another go at the English referee.

Juve blamed Oliver for their Champions League quarter-final exit last week.

He awarded Real Madrid a stoppage-time penalty then sent off legend Buffon, 40, for his furious reaction.

Despite both decisions widely being considered correct, Buffon accused Oliver of having “a rubbish bin in place of a heart”.

Oliver will referee tonight’s West Ham-Stoke game and Buffon said: “Even if I exaggerated, I said what I thought.

“A referee with more experience would not have whistled, he would let the teams play in extra time – let the pitch do the talking.

“I do not say it was not a penalty, I say it was doubtful and on something dubious in a similar game, 20 seconds from the end, a referee of experience does another evaluation.”
