Lad survives shark attack

A BOY survived a bull shark attack thanks to his rubber swimming shoes.

Shane McConnell, 12, of Edinburgh, needed 53 stitches in his legs after being savaged in the Bahamas. Doctors said his shoes’ tough soles saved him from worse injuries.

Shane said it had been scary but added: “Now I’ll have a pretty cool scar.”
