Today’s picture shows Liverpool songbird Cilla Black performing for fans at the New Musical Express poll winners’ concert at the Empire Pool, Wembley. The other acts on stage included The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Tom Jones. Sharing the same manager as the Fab Four, Brian Epstein, Cilla had catapulted to fame with hits Anyone Who Had a Heart and You’re My World the previous year.
