Social media sites criticised for deleting images showing psoriasis
Dermatologists in England and Germany accused Facebook and Instagram of discrimination and censorship for removing photographs of skin affected by psoriasis and for blocking hashtags relating to the condition.
The accusations come as more patients are posting photos of their skin in an attempt to generate support, raise awareness, and de-stigmatise skin problems, support groups argued.
The UK Psoriasis Association has launched a petition to “stop the censorship of psoriasis in social media”. They’ve got a supporter here.
