Weight-fear lad of 17 in train suicide

- BY SOPHIE HALLE-RICHARDS

A TEENAGER stepped into the path of a train after he suffered “body confidence issues”, an inquest heard.

Kameron Lyons, 17, wrongly believed he was overweight and had been dieting, despite assurances his size was normal.

The aspiring comedian, of Wilmslow, Cheshire, sent a text in September to girlfriend Clodagh Ireland saying: “If you get this, it is over for me. I am not worth anyone’s pain.

“You are so beautiful and you are going to make someone a lucky guy. Tell my family I’m sorry, I was never good enough.”

Moments later, he was hit at 82mph by a train from Manchester Piccadilly to Cardiff through Handforth station, the Macclesfield inquest was told. Verdict: Suicide.
