Eat nuts for stable heartbeat
EATING nuts can cut the risk of developing a dangerous heart rhythm by up to 18% while also fending off heart failure.
A 17-year study of 61,000 people and their diets found 7,550 cases of atrial fibrillation and 3,160 of heart failure.
Eating nuts one to three times a month cut the risk of AF by 3%, one to two times a week by 12% and three or more times a week by 18%. Medics from Stockholm, Sweden, said in journal Heart “even a small increase” in nut consumption is beneficial.
Three coffees a day can defend against atrial fibrillation, an Australian study found.
