EVANS LEARNS NOT TO BE DOPE
DAN EVANS vowed to return from his one-year drug ban a changed man after receiving a qualifying wildcard into the new Glasgow Challenger event next week.
The former British No.2 tested positive for cocaine at the Barcelona Open on April 24 last year.
And despite Andy Murray opposing Maria Sharapova’s invite to the WTA event in Birmingham last year after her doping suspension, the LTA has offered 27-year-old Evans (left) controversial help to get back into the sport. The former world No.41 said: “I have learned a lot about myself. If there is a lesson to be learned it’s that it is every athlete’s responsibility for what they put into their bodies.”
