RAFA BENITEZ will tell Newcastle he wants the backing to take them to the next level.
The Spanish coach was quietly satisfied with a job well done, following a win over Arsenal that has made Premier League survival a certainty and a top-eight finish possible.
But Benitez wants to go beyond that. He will ask the club’s board for the financial backing in the close season to help capitalise on the incredible St James’ support, and push towards the European places.
The former Liverpool boss has been linked with the Gunners but believes Newcastle have the potential to become a force themselves, if the owners invest in team strengthening.
