A once-thriving home shopping firm has gone bust after suffering a cash flow crisis, triggering nearly 100 job losses. Birmingham-based Betterware, founded in 1928, sold a host of goods through catalogues and via door-to-door distributors. It is the sister firm of Kleeneze, which went into administration last week.

Booming fashion firm Quiz has announced plans to launch a menswear range, from £14.99. The Glasgow-based business last week announced a 30% jump in full-year sales.

The pound hit $1.43 against the dollar yesterday amid expectation of a Bank of England rate rise this month. It’s near the highest since the 2016 Brexit vote.
