Jose threatens to axe his failing stars from FA Cup showpiece
JOSE MOURINHO is ready to axe his high-profile Manchester United flops.
United confirmed Manchester City as Premier League champions with their shock 1-0 defeat at home to bottom club West Brom on Sunday.
Mourinho tore into his under-performing stars and warned the likes of Paul
Pogba, Alexis Sanchez, Ander Herrera and Juan Mata risk being dropped for Saturday’s FA Cup semifinal against Tottenham.
United travel to Bournemouth tomorrow, with Mourinho claiming those who impress there can play their way into the starting line-up against Spurs – at the expense of those who fell flat against West Brom.
“Rotating is not the right word,” said Mourinho. “If I play a player against Bournemouth and the player is phenomenal, he plays the semi-final.
“So it’s not rotating, because rotating looks like a player that plays against Bournemouth is to give a rest to somebody that is going to play against Spurs.
“It’s an opportunity for people to play and to try to get a place in the team for Spurs and if some of the guys that played against West Brom don’t have a place in that team, they don’t have a place.”
