School place chances rise
MORE parents will get a child into their first-choice primary, a survey found.
As school places were handed out today, it emerged Northumberland had the top rate, 97.3%, Hartlepool was at 97% and Cumbria at 96.5%.
London had the lowest rates, figures given to the Press Association from 74 of 152 authorities showed.
Kensington and Chelsea was at 68.3% and Camden’s rate was 76.6%.
Heads’ union NAHT said getting the right place “can feel like a battle”.
