Job stresses hitting police
EIGHT out of 10 police are showing signs of anxiety or depression due to overwork, it is claimed.
Police Federation chairman Calum McLeod said the “startling” figure, from a survey, was driven by falling police numbers.
He said cuts meant officers do not get enough support and efforts to provide counselling are hit by long NHS waiting lists.
Mr MacLeod added: “The Government is saying we need to do more for less – all you get for less is less.”
