Polar cub lad needs name

THE first polar bear cub to be born in the UK in 25 years is male.

The public will chose a name for the new arrival at the Highland Wildlife Park, near Kincraig, Scotland.

The park’s Una Richardson said: “We have a little boy. He is becoming more confident every day.”

A wolf with a broken leg has been saved from being put down by groundbreaking surgery at Wildwood Escot, Devon.

Vet JJ van Dijk said: “Within 24 hours he was putting full weight on it.”
