Dawn: I’m still reeling over loss of Emma

- BY MARK JEFFERIES Showbiz Editor

DAWN French is struggling to get over the death of her Vicar Of Dibley costar Emma Chambers.

Emma, who played the dim but lovable Alice opposite French’s Geraldine Granger in the BBC comedy, died of natural causes in February, at 53.

French told ITV’s Lorraine: “This has been a very shocking and sad loss. I think we’re all still reeling.

“She was incredibly bright. Very funny, very knowing and yet she was able to play someone who was in a different world.”

Emma, who was married to actor Ian Dunn, played the sister of Hugh Grant’s character in the hit 1999 film Notting Hill.

She suffered severe allergies and is thought to have died of a heart attack.
