Poor patients ‘wait for ops’

-

WORKING-class patients wait 20% longer to have heart stents fitted, a study has revealed.

Waiting times from 2008 and 2015 rose by 15.4 days for poor patients and 10.7 days for richer ones, who complained more often.

Prof Richard Cookson, of York University, said: “Our research sounds a warning that social inequality in waiting times for procedures may be increasing.”

Divorce greatly raises the risk of a second heart attack, a poll revealed.
