HE’S best known for playing an evil killer, but Anthony Hopkins comes across all holier than thou filming in Rome for his role as Pope Benedict XVI in a Netflix film.
The actor, 80, who was Hannibal Lecter in The Silence of the Lambs, plays Joseph Ratzinger, who became Pope in 2005 and resigned due to failing health in 2013.
It’s not known if Benedict, who was 91 this week, gave him his blessing to play the part in The Pope.
