Girl, 5, drowns as mother rescued

A FIVE-year-old girl drowned after being swept out to sea with her mother from a crowded beach.

The pair got into difficulties at the Durdle Door beauty spot on Dorset’s Jurassic Coast.

Holidaymakers ran into the waves to rescue the mum, but her daughter could not be found.

The girl was later recovered from the sea by an MoD boat, but she could not be revived by lifeboat crew and paramedics.
