MPs plea for a ‘revolution’ in cancer care to cut death toll
MPS will demand a cancer treatment “revolution” to save thousands of lives.
They are to today debate a motion asking the Government to increase the sharing of health data and promotion of “adaptive” clinical trials.

There is a long history of failure in traditional clinical trials. For scientists, lack of good quality patient data is really hampering efforts.” Traditional clinical trials test only one drug at a time, while in adaptive trials, new drugs are added in response to a patient’s condition. Deaths that could be avoided with “good quality healthcare” rose from 71,656 in 2014 to 75,736 in 2016, the Office for National Statistics has revealed.
