UNDER PRESSURE 999 call handlers hear it all

BBC1, 8.30pm Lee Mack’s award-winning series bows out with another gag-filled episode.

You can see from the odd wry smile that Lee and Sally Bretton (who plays wife Lucy) occasional­ly struggle not to break out into laughter mid-scene.

Tonight’s episode, like most of the others, is essentiall­y a 30-minute argument between the bickering husband and wife.

The jokes here are easily spotted from a distance, but there’s a certain joy in knowing what’s coming.

What follows then is a lively debate, littered with puns and innuendo, as Lucy considers having the operation.

Unfortunat­ely, Lee is not on board – until he accidental­ly sees something he shouldn’t have.
