WEMBLEY’S NOT A PLUS

- BY NEIL McLEMAN

JOSE MOURINHO has claimed playing a home FA semi-final at Wembley will not give “fantastic” Tottenham an advantage.

Spurs have played all their home fixtures at the National Stadium this season during the reconstruction of White Hart Lane. The FA Cup semi-finals are traditionally played at a neutral venue.

But Mourinho said: “I played one cup final in Roma’s stadium against Roma and I won, and I played a cup final in my stadium and I lost.

“So when you go to big moments, with big decisions, semi-finals, finals, I don’t think it’s an advantage at all.”

Mourinho’s Inter Milan won the 2010 Coppa Italia at Roma’s Stadio Olimpico – and his Real Madrid side lost the 2013 Copa del Rey final to Atletico Madrid at the Bernabeu.

The Premier League encounters this season have gone with home advantage and Mourinho added: “It is the third time I go deep in my analysis on them this season and it is so, so easy to say it is a fantastic football team,”
