I beat ‘super’ gonorrhoea
A BRITON who was the first in the world to catch “super” gonorrhoea has been successfully treated.
The man, who has a partner, got the sexually transmitted disease from a woman while on holiday in South-East Asia.
The strain is highly resistent to antibiotics, but he beat it after three days on a drip in hospital.
Dr Gwenda Hughes, of Public Health England, said: “There has been no further spread of this infection within the UK.”
