Wonder drug price cut bid
MINISTERS have asked the makers of a cystic fibrosis “wonder drug” to lower its price so it can be provided on the NHS.
Orkambi, which costs £100,000 a year, stops the production of mucous that clogs the lungs.
Ministers wrote to Vertex Pharmaceuticals asking them to cut the price after 114,000 people signed a petition to have it available on the NHS.
