FA: SORRY HARRY ..WE ARE TWITS
THE FA have issued a grovelling apology to Harry Kane after a tweet from its own competition mocked the England striker.
As revealed in Mirror Sport yesterday, the tweet, posted after Tottenham’s FA Cup semi-final defeat
to Manchester United on Saturday, asked Reds defender Chris Smalling: “What’s in your pocket?”
It then included a clip of Smalling replying: “Harry Kane”.
An FA spokesman said: “We have written to both clubs to apologise for any offence caused.”
Although Tottenham have not yet commented, they are understood to be unimpressed at both the tweet itself and the fact that it had come from an official FA account.
