Caffeine link to tot weight
BABIES exposed to high levels of caffeine in the womb are likely to grow up heavier, a study revealed.
More than three mugs of coffee a day could mean a child at eight was a pound heavier than one whose mum hardly had any caffeine, scientists found.
The Norwegian Institute of Public Health report said: “The results add supporting evidence for advice to reduce caffeine intake during pregnancy.”
The NHS advises 200mg a day maximum. A coffee has 100mg and a tea 75mg.
