Lamb prices set to rocket
LAMB prices are due to soar this spring after months of wet weather.
Farmers described the current UK lambing season as “shocking” and said wholesale prices are up 46% on last year.
Phil Stocker, head of the National Sheep Association, said the number of lamb deaths has risen 10% nationally since last April.
“With these shortages and a lack of supply from New Zealand, I think we will see an increase in supermarket prices.”
