Jackett’s off in race for Town boss post

- BY ALEX CROOK

PORTSMOUTH manager Kenny Jackett is a contender for the vacant manager’s job at Championship club Ipswich Town.

The former Millwall and Wolves chief (above) is among the names being considered to replace Mick McCarthy.

Jackett took charge at Fratton Park last summer and has guided Pompey to the fringe of the League One play-off places.

Lincoln boss Danny Cowley and Steve McClaren are also in the frame.
