‘No-fault split will halt hurt’

BRITAIN’S most senior judge wants changes to divorce laws to stop blame sparking nasty conflict.

Baroness Hale said “no-fault” splits strengthen family responsibilities.

At a family law conference, Lady Hale said: “The petition can trigger or exacerbate family conflict entirely unnecessarily.”

The Supreme Court chief added: “There is no evidence having to give a reason for a breakdown makes people think twice.”
