A top blinking achievement

A PARALYSED woman able to communicate only by blinking has written a book about her condition using just her eyes.

Mia Austin, 29, was diagnosed with “locked-in syndrome” after a stroke nine years ago.

She started writing with the help of relatives, using a spelling chart, during her 14 months in hospital.

Her book In The Blink of an Eye, out on Friday, took a year to complete. Dad Rick from Wirral, Merseyside, said: “It’s outstanding.”
