A chilling thought

The boiler packing up when it’s cold is Brits’ biggest fear

- BY AMY-CLARE MARTIN

BRITS’ blood runs cold at the thought of a boiler breakdown in winter.

SOLDIERS in hazmat suits start the clean-up operation in Salisbury following the bungled poisoning of Russian doubleagent Sergei Skripal and his daughter.

They were seen digging up slabs close to where Sergei, 66, and Yulia, 33, were found slumped on a bench on March 4.

It is one of nine sites to be cleaned in an operation that could last until Christmas.

Samples of soil, turf and paving are being tested so any trace of the Novichok nerve agent used in the attack can be eradicated.

The UK blames Russia for the assassination attempt but the Kremlin has strongly denied responsibility.

Around 190 specialist military personnel are taking part in the clean up. Yulia is in an MI5 safe house and her dad is expected to be discharged from hospital in weeks. 2) Having insufficient savings 4) Not being able to pay mortgage/bills 6) Needing a filling at the dentist 8) Being late for work 10) Going overdrawn 12) Having to make small talk at a party
