DRAMA
BBC2, 9pm
As this powerful series finale begins, Ultravox’s Vienna blasts out, lending it even more theatrics and poignancy.
Once again, we see Andrew Cunanan (Darren Criss) walk up to Versace and shoot him dead. Then the police sirens start wailing and Cunanan runs.
Then he watches the breaking news on TV and swigs, laughing, from a bottle of bubbly.
Criss, the all-singing all-dancing kid from Glee, the high school CHILLING Criss as killer Cunanan musical, is brilliantly captivating in his performance as a chilling psychopath.
Watching him in this “grown-up” role is like when we first saw Daniel Radcliffe out of his Harry Potter robes – weird at first, but we’ve got used to it.
He steals every scene tonight as one of America’s largest manhunts gets underway. Cunanan tries to leave Miami, but finds himself thwarted by police checkpoints.
Meanwhile, in Milan, on the day of Versace’s funeral, Antonio (Ricky Martin) receives news from Donatella (Penelope Cruz).
