Power profit up by 250%
SCOTTISHPOWER yesterday boasted a 247% profits rise, a week after inflationbusting price increases.
The Spanish-owned firm made £132million in 2018’s first three months thanks to the Beast from the East.
The rise came despite ScottishPower’s loss of 100,000 customers in that time. More may follow since it increased its standard variable tariff by an average 5.5%.
Quarterly bills for nearly a million customers will rise 6.9% – or £85 a year – to an average £1,226.
