A CLEANER who tricked a workmate out of £42,000 with a Facebook fraud has been jailed for two years and eight months.

Claudia Rodrigues, 26, set up a profile in a man’s name to con Zelia Cotterill who was seeking romance.

Trust was built and the “man” got Zelia to pay for “cancer care”, Guernsey royal court heard.

Rodrigues, of St Peter Port, Guernsey, admitted fraud. Judge Russell Finch said her crimes were “sustained and wicked.”
