Going up... Lifetime on the hips Hula Hoops make most of us think of innocent fun, but their real story is actually a web of lies, betrayal and intrigue. The woman behind them, Joan Anderson, was cheated out of a fortune, and now she’s spoken about it for new documentar­y, Hula Girl. Joan’s still doing it, BTW, age 94.

Exhibition­ists The Museum of Selfies has just opened in – no prizes – LA, and the language that’s being used to try to justify that is hilarious.

It “explores the history and cultural phenomenon”, apparently, which almost sounds serious and art-like, if you squint. Oh and it’s an “interactiv­e museum” – i.e. you can take selfies there.
