Prince: Soul left my body after overdose on jet

-

POP legend Prince told his girlfriend how his soul left his body after he overdosed during a flight on his private plane just days before he took the pills that killed him.

Judith Hill described how the music icon, 57, had no pulse or heartbeat after he collapsed on the jet. She said: “I thought he was dead. He’s just limp. We’re shaking him and there’s nothing.” But when he was revived, Prince said that while he was unconscious he had heard everyone around him as they battled to save him.

He told her: “I left. My soul left. I could hear you, I could hear everybody talking and I kept saying, ‘How am I going to get back to my body,’ and it was the hardest thing.”

The pilot made an emergency landing in the early hours of April 15, 2016, in Moline, Illinois, and the star was treated in hospital for an overdose of painkillers.

Judith later told Prince: “No more of these pills.” But he replied: “Well, that means I can’t perform because my hands are hurting.”

Six days later, Prince was found dead in his Paisley Park home in Minneapolis from an overdose. Last week officials said he had unknowingly taken a counterfeit Vicodin pill laced with fentanyl.

Police have failed to find who supplied him with the drugs.

His family is suing the Illinois hospital that treated him after the plane drama. The suit claims his death was a “direct and proximate cause” of the hospital failing to appropriately diagnose and treat the overdose.
