Our photograph shows the finalists of the Children’s Pet Dog Show at Southport, Merseyside, as they wait to be judged. The popular event included a parade of pooches of all shapes and sizes. The finalists included, from left, Jane Darrah with her boxer dog, Honey; Valerie Dixon, nine, with her mongrel, Sandy; and Jillian Tattersall, 13, with her miniature dachshund, Julia.
