MR PERFECT DOESN’T WANT KIDS

I had a really fun date recently with a guy I met through work who I’d fancied for months. The wine was flowing and we had a real laugh, and were pretty honest with each other (the booze talking!)

He’s very good looking, funny, and so charismatic, but during the evening he dropped a bombshell – he never wants kids. He’s so certain he never wants to be a dad that he’s even considered a vasectomy and he’s only 29!

I felt so disappointed because I really want kids, but I’m so attracted to him – we just gel.

I’m a couple of years older than him, so my biological clock is ticking. Could I date him anyway in the hope that he might change his mind?

Date him by all means, but don’t do it in the hope he’ll change his mind on kids because that might never happen. And it seems rather unlikely if he’s considering a vasectomy!

You’ve admitted that having a family is important to you and that you’re not getting any younger, so why invest your time and energy on this man?

He might be good looking and charming etc, but so what if you don’t want the same things in the future?

He’s been honest, so you should be honest with yourself and, if you want to be a mum, then he’s not your Mr Right, no matter how nice he is.
