COMEDY

-

SKY ATLANTIC, 10.45pm There’s a man dead in a bed and he’s been shot in the head. All pretty grim so far, but this is honestly funny.

Barry (Saturday Night Live comedian Bill Hader) is a hitman. It’s a stressful job, but someone’s gotta do it. He is tired of doing the same thing day in, day out – a daily grind of killing people.

After pursuing his latest target into an LA drama class, Barry finds himself roped into a performance in front of acting guru Gene Cousineau (Henry Winkler, aka The Fonz to anyone born before 1980).

And before you can say ‘break a leg, Barry gets bitten by the acting bug.

While the rest of the class are “bringing their truth”, Barry is largely deadpan and weird.

But there’s a chance that if he reads Gene’s bestseller Hit Your Mark and Say Your Lines, he can turn his life around.

With rave reviews from the US, this is an original and entertaining dark comedy.
