Sorry business about Harry

-

BEN PURKISS, chairman of the PFA and Swindon Town journeyman, is being urged to make a public apology for a lame gag about Harry Kane at the Player of the Year awards dinner on Sunday.

From what I recall, Purkiss’s speech might have raised the odd eyebrow but it was hardly Reginald D Hunter time and he was highly complimentary about Kane.

The FA has apologised to Kane after a daft, ill-advised Twitter post and Purkiss has privately followed suit. But this is getting ridiculous. Kane (right) is a tough centreforward not a snowflake.

And don’t forget, the original joke was Spurs and Kane formally appealing to re-credit a goal that might have brushed off his jersey.

Kane does not need any more apologies, he just needs to get back to his best.
