EFL TO QUIZ FANS ON SAFE STANDING
FOOTBALL LEAGUE chiefs are launching a campaign to allow all their 72 clubs to bring back safe standing.
The EFL and Football Supporters’ Federation are urging fans to take part in a ‘Stand Up For Choice’ survey which is hoped will support new legislation. It comes on the back of 100,000 people signing a petition asking Premier League and Championship clubs to be allowed to bring in safe-standing.
Sports Minister Tracey Crouch (above) blocked West Brom’s plan for “rail seating” with growing public pressure for football and the government to make the change. Standing is not allowed in English football’s top two divisions because of legislation brought in following the 1989 Hillsborough disaster. The survey can be found at efl.com/standupforchoice.
