Cable: Labour tactics hit Libs & ‘helped Tories win election’
JEREMY Corbyn supporters helped hand Theresa May the keys to No10, says Lib Dem leader Sir Vince Cable.
Sir Vince said Labour “poured” in to marginal seats the Lib Dems could have won at last year’s election.
He said: “We were well-placed to defeat Conservatives and reduce the number of Conservatives in Parliament, reducing the pros- pect of a Tory government... Labour people, Momentum, Corbynites, poured in to help Conservatives win.” Sir Vince urged Labour supporters to vote Lib Dem in local elections where Labour stand no chance of beating the Tory candidates. Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell said claims Labour benefited from Russian Twitter propaganda in the 2017 election were a “ludicrous, farcical smear”.
