Countryfile earns its royal approval

-

Yes. Teachers are leaving in droves and some posts don’t even attract applicants. Ask any teacher and this is to do with work-life balance. KATE

Yes. Schools aren’t a babysitting service. I don’t get why parents freak out if they have to arrange other care. JO KENNY

No. I think the problem is working parents will have to pay more out for childcare and if they are already on a low income they might not have that extra money. TOYA LINE

No. Is the children’s education not more important here? ISMETOO

Yes. So maybe they can relax rules on taking kids on holidays in term time too. MUM24

No. What about the parents who work and can’t get childcare? Working five full days a week is a good work-life balance. They have plenty of school holidays. HARRIET HOBBS

It was lovely to read your article on The Queen inviting Countryfile behind the scenes at three royal residences to celebrate its 30th anniversary (Mirror, April 27).

Like Her Majesty and Prince Philip, we are huge fans of the show. The enthusiasm and warmth of its presenters, including Kate Humble, Matt Baker and John Craven, is so wonderful and it covers fascinating topics.

We will look forward to these special shows. J Wood, Tiverton, Devon
