How to cut down on alcohol...

-

Have a smaller bottle of beer instead of a can, or a single shot instead of a double.

Swap your usual drink for one with less alcohol. The alcohol by volume measure of alcohol can be found on a can or bottle’s label.

Avoid stocking up on alcohol when you’re doing the shopping.

Buy a drinks measure to check how much you’re really drinking. Pouring by eye means you’re likely to drink more.

When you get the urge to pour yourself a glass, resist it by doing something completely different instead.

Try meeting friends somewhere that doesn’t serve alcohol, such as a coffee shop.

Set yourself a limit on how much you’re going to drink and stick to it.

Take a fixed amount of money with you when you’re out. This will put a ceiling on your spending and lessen the risk of two drinks turning into five.
