Heads warn on childcare

A POLICY of 30 hours of free childcare is “struggling” because of a lack of cash, head teachers warn.

And kids from the poorest families are the biggest losers, according to research by school leaders’ union the NAHT.

Less than a fifth of heads, just 19%, said funding covered costs. Union boss Paul Whiteman said: “The money is insufficient.”
