Cancer nurse shortfall fear

-

A LACK of specialist cancer nurses is affecting the quality of care patients receive, a report suggests.

New lung cancer cases per nurse varied from 62 to 203 in parts of England.

Macmillan Cancer Support also found one in seven chemo nurse positions were unfilled in areas.

The charity’s Dr Karen Roberts said: “Nurses are being run ragged, patients may not be receiving the level of care they need.”
