Fake Mirror web page spreading

-

aI warned last week how supposed Bitcoin get-richquick schemes were being promoted by fake online Daily Mirror pages and bogus endorsements by Martin Lewis of Money Saving Expert.

Mr Lewis is suing Facebook for carrying the crooks’ adverts – but they can be found on other websites too.

This week I spotted one on how-to guide advice site wikiHow.

If you clicked on the advert featuring Mr Lewis you were taken to a bogus Mirror online page with the headline: “Martin Lewis lends a hand to British families with Revolutionary Bitcoin Home Based Opportunity.”

It claims the personal finance expert has invested £1.2million of his own money in the scheme called Bitcoin Code.

Click through to Bitcoin Code and you get a website promising: “Ride the wave of Bitcoin and earn a guaranteed $13,000 in exactly 24 hours”.

I’ve asked wikiHow – which is not connected to the better-known Wikipedia – for the contact details of whoever placed the advert that leads to this rot.

It has not replied.
