The embattled boss of TSB has admitted making a “terrible decision” over its IT fiasco. Paul Pester said pressing ahead with the migration of customer data to its own computer system two weeks ago was the “one decision in my life” he would change.

TSB has received 40,000 complaints – 10 times the normal number – due to the problem.

Pester apologised again yesterday and promised to ensure customers were not left out of pocket by the mess.
