RORY’S GOT THE BOTTLE
RORY McILROY has revealed he spent a week binge-watching TV and drinking wine to get over his latest Masters heartache.
The four-time Major winner shot a fourthround 74 playing in the final group with winner Patrick Reed to fail to complete his career Grand Slam.
Speaking before the Wells Fargo Championship, his first event since Augusta, the Ulsterman said: “Probably took me a week to get over it.
“I went back home and decompressed, bingewatched a couple of shows, read a couple of books, drank a few bottles of wine. I was trying to immerse myself in anything but golf at that moment.
“It got to the point where I needed to see a bit of daylight and get outside for walks and then your mind starts to focus on what is coming up.
“Once I got back into my routine. I was fine.
“I was just disappointed because I didn’t give a good account of myself on that last day.”
