RAFA WANTS IT WRITE

RAFA BENITEZ wants written guarantees about his future transfer budget and powers. The Newcastle boss has been offered a new deal by the club to extend his contract which has one season left. Benitez (left) is minded to stay at St James’ Park and has a strong hand after guiding the Geordies to safety. But he has already said he can’t “work miracles” every season and says “still things have to change” so he can execute deals quickly. It is claimed Benitez and Newcastle struck a verbal agreement last summer which gave him around £70million to spend over three transfer windows. But he felt let down when his early summer targets were not signed.
